Abbot House Heritage Centre

Charity description

Abbot House Heritage Centre logo
With its distinctive coral-pink harled exterior and lovely medieval garden, Abbot House is an unmissable visitor experience at the centre of Dunfermline’s fine heritage quarter. Visit the 16th-century fresco and working brew house, lunch in the barrel-vaulted café on local produce, and pick up wonderful gifts (including cards, locally-made pottery, and Abbot Brew House beer) in our shop. Abbot House is fully licensed, disabled accessible on the ground floor, and is dog-friendly throughout.

Abbot House is an award-winning attraction primarily run by a dedicated team of volunteers. Our volunteers come from all walks of life, and offer an incredible level of support to the charity. We offer an interactive programme for visiting school groups that centres on archaeology and object handling, and also provide tours of the house for free. Abbot’s Kitchen, our garden café, specialises in casual Scottish food, with an emphasis on home-baking and a dedication to sourcing the freshest local ingredients.

For more information about our role in the community, please visit our website.

Since the story of Abbot House’s financial situation was published in the Dunfermline Press, we have experienced an overwhelming level of support from the town. Abbot House needs £5000 before March 2015 in order to stay open and continue its role in the heart of Dunfermline’s community. Please give however much you are able - or come and visit for a cup of tea!
